
Terry Norman

A graduate of the University of Guelph (B.Sc. in agriculture), Terry Norman gained extensive experience in trade policy and trade negotiations during his career with the federal government. From 1988 to 1993, he was Deputy Coordinator and MTN Negotiator for Agriculture at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and participated in the Uruguay Round negotiations. After spending the next two years at the Permanent Mission of Canada in Geneva, he returned to Ottawa as Director, Western Hemisphere Trade Policy Division, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, where he was concerned with the implementation of the NAFTA and the Canada-Chile FTA, and was lead negotiator for agriculture for the FTAA and Canada-Costa Rica FTA negotiations. From 2002 to 2003, he was Director, Western Hemisphere Trade Negotiations, at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
