Dr. James D. Gaisford

Jim Gaisford is Associate Professor, Department of Economics, University of Calgary, and an Associate Director of the Centre for International Financial and Economic Research at Loughborough University in the UK. He holds M.A. degrees in economics (Queen's University) and social and political thought (York University), and a Ph.D. from Queen's University. His research focuses primarily on international trade, agricultural economics and liberalization in former command economies. He recently co-authored books on The Economics of Biotechnology, and Economic Analysis for International Trade Negotiations. Dr. Gaisford also has extensive WTO capacity building experience in Eastern Europe.
